Excerpt from Black Book News African American Book Reviews Featured Author Of The Month

ADRIAN L.

MALLORY
AUTHOR OF CORRUPT INJUSTICE

BBN: What inspired you to write the

book?

ADRIAN: I was in prison from 2005 to

2008 so I had the time to assess myself.

Realizing I was chasing dead

ends, I put thought into the persistent vocal

demands from my former English

Professor to write.

Never did I

see it as feasible financially but the

daily redundant prison routine coupled

with some poorly written and

predictable urban books that I couldn't

relate to put my pen in motion.

BBN: How long did it take to write?

ADRIAN: In prison time was in omnipresent

and this was my escape so I

use to get lost into my writing which

may be why the readers tend to do

likewise. I'd say 3-4 months and it's

over 400 pages. I wrote several others

during similar time spans, but

now with all that's going on it takes

much longer but I minimize my surroundings

and distractions to recreate

that comfort writing zone I had in prison.
